Inside Line Promotions – GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (April 28, 2021) – Brenham Crouch tied his career-best result in a midget last Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway, which hosted the 10th annual Impact Signs, Awnings, Wraps Open Wheel Showdown.

Crouch was strong throughout his debut at the dirt oval in Wheatland, Mo., guiding a Toyota Racing backed Keith Kunz Motorsports midget from seventh to win a POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League heat race. That put him on the pole for the main event.

“We had a pretty fortunate heat race and we were able to win from the back, which put us on the pole for the feature,” he said. “Daison (Pursley) got by us, but then he had a problem so we regained the lead. (Emerson) Axsom took the lead late and we ran second. A couple of driver errors cost me that race. That was on me messing up turns one and two.”

Crouch led the first three laps of the 30-lap feature. He also held the point from the middle of the race until Axsom’s pass with six laps remaining. Couch’s second-place showing was his fourth podium of the season.

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday at Valley Speedway, which had its race postponed from Friday because of wet weather. Crouch placed second in a heat race before capping the night with a ninth-place result in the A Main.

“I started 11th and there was a caution on Lap 1 that moved me up a row,” he said. “Then I gained a couple of spots. I biked up in turns one and two and lost a few spots. I drove back up to almost a top five with 10 laps to go. I went to the bottom to pass someone. I missed the line a bit and someone hooked me, which turned me to the infield. I was lucky to recover. I think I got by a couple more at the end to scrap my way into the top 10.”

The solid weekend moved Crouch to sixth in the championship standings.

A USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series event at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Ind., is this Friday and Saturday.

“I went there once last year,” Crouch said. “I feel like for my first time there we were pretty successful. Qualifying was pretty good and we held our own the rest of the night. I’m excited going back and I think we’ll get around the track pretty good.”
