Inside Line Promotions – BRISTOL, Tenn. (April 27, 2021) – Jason Sides has a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series tripleheader on tap this weekend.

Sides will venture to Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., on Thursday before making his debut at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Mo., on Friday and Saturday during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown.

Sides has made three trips to Jacksonville Speedway in his career with a top result of eighth during his debut in 2014.

“It’s really small,” he said. “It’s like going from one of the biggest tracks in Bristol to one of the smallest in a week.”

This weekend’s action at I-70 Speedway is the first World of Outlaws event at the oval since 1986.

“I’ve driven by there a bunch when I stayed at (Danny) Lasoski’s shop,” he said. “It’s been closed since I went by there. He told us it used to be a dirt track and high banked and they changed it to asphalt. Looking at the video the other day of (Brian) Brown there it looks like a decent size.”

Sides competed last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, which welcomes the World of Outlaws for the first time since June 2001 for the World of Outlaws Bristol Throwdown. Sides’ best result was a 23rd-place finish on Sunday when he exited the feature early following a Last Chance Showdown victory.

“I wasn’t very comfortable Thursday during the practice day,” he said. “We went out four times. The very first one I had a death grip on the steering wheel. The second one wasn’t as bad. The third one got a little better. The fourth one I felt decent, but I still didn’t feel like when you roll into Knoxville or Eldora.

“The first race night when I hot lapped it wasn’t near as bad. We didn’t qualify as well as you need to and then you’re marred in the back of a heat race and the back of the B Main. The second night we didn’t qualify great, but it put us on the pole of the fourth heat race is what I call it. From that point the clean air versus dirty air was so intense. When I was out front I felt way better than I did in the back of a heat race. We made an executive decision for the feature so I rode around a couple of laps and then pulled in. I know my limitations.”
