Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (April 27, 2021) – Last Saturday was mission accomplished for Garet Williamson, who made it through the night unscathed at Knoxville Raceway.

Bryant Paver Motorsports has seen a rough start to the 2021 season and after Friday’s Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour show in Missouri was rained out, the team ventured to ‘The Sprint Car Capital of the World’ in search of some momentum.

“In hot laps we were really fast,” Williamson said. “I think I should have stuck the bottom on both laps of qualifying, but that was our best result in qualifying there so that was good.”

Williamson qualified 19th quickest and he finished where he started – second – in a heat race. That garnered enough points to lock into the 17th starting position in the 18-lap main event.

“We wanted to get laps and some seat time, and we didn’t try anything crazy,” he said. “I ran the bottom for 18 laps. I’ve never run the bottom that many laps in a row. That’s a hard place to run the bottom. It was nice to have a smooth night and build some confidence and momentum.”

Williamson’s 15th-place result was his sixth top five of the season.

The team is heading east this weekend to race on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and on Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., during the Rite Way Sealing & Paving Inc. Battle of the Groves with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. It will mark Williamson’s debut at both tracks.

“Those are two very different places than I’ve ever seen,” he said. “The competition will be tough. It’s a lot like when you race at Knoxville. The locals get around the tracks really well. Our goal for this weekend is to make the show both nights and get through them smooth.”
