Following a weekend of racing in Canada, the Big Game Treestands #7 team returned to ‘The States’ to open up the month of September as World of Outlaws racing continued in Alger, Washington on Friday as ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ made his 12th appearance at Skagit Speedway.
As the race evening got underway at the 3/10-mile oval, Dollansky showed his power in qualifying by rocketing the Karavan Trailers Maxim to the top of the charts among the 28 competitors. Quick-time honors put the Elk River, Minnesota native in the first heat race where he started fourth and finished 5th to transfer into the dash. An inversion of six started the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products #7 in row three for the quick 6-lap dash where Dollansky bettered his starting position for the main event by advancing two positions to finish 4th.
In the 30-lap A-Main the Aggressive Hydraulics backed sprinter started outside of row two. The green flag wouldn’t stay out long when the main event got underway as a car got upside down on the first lap to bring out the red flag. Early trouble in the feature continued on lap 6 for the first of five stoppages until lap 11. Dollansky continued to hold down the third position when action resumed and then assumed the runner-up position and set sights on leader Jason Meyers. Battling heavy lapped traffic, Dollansky worked the highside to narrow the gap until lap 23 when the gap would be no more as ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ motored around the highside of Meyers and into the lead. The Big Game Treestands #7 sprinter would never look back over the final seven laps, racing to the checkered flag for the series-leading 8th time this season.
‘Jason was running a good race and had a good race car. It seemed like it was a long race, there was a lot of yellow flags early on,” commented Dollansky. “We had a good car and a good starting spot and once we got into lapped traffic it seemed like things worked out our way. I couldn’t be happier to get back into victory lane it’s been since Pevely. We changed some things after that and went back to what we were doing before and it sure worked out tonight to get quick time and back it up with a win. I couldn’t be happier for Big Game Treestands, Aggressive Hydraulics, Karavan Trailers, Aeroquip, and my crew DJ, Troy, Luke, and Tyler. It’s a great win for this entire team and Brian Morrison who does a great job with our motor program. It’s my dad’s birthday so it’s a great birthday present for him.”
The Big Game Treestands #7 team will try go for a weekend sweep of racing as they return to Skagit Speedway on Saturday.
