Inside Line Promotions – WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (April 20, 2021) – Greg Wilson produced another successful weekend in Ohio.

Wilson guided his Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics sponsored team to a 10th-place result last Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica followed by a fifth-place showing on Saturday at Waynesfield Raceway Park.

“I’m feeling better every week,” he said. “I feel like we’re learning a lot and when that happens then you become more confident, knowing you can do things and the car will respond.”

The weekend began on Friday with Wilson qualifying second quickest in his group before he finished where he started – third – in a heat race at Attica Raceway Park. That earned a spot into the feature redraw. Wilson pulled the No. 7 to line up on the inside of the fourth row.

“Attica was pretty good,” he said. “The whole goal is to get our team headed in a better direction. What I took out of the night was that we were way better early in the night than we’ve been with qualifying and heat racing. The track was a little different than we thought it’d be. Working with what we are doing to be good early, we made some bad adjustments to the car and got it too tight in the feature. But we were still okay. When I left there I felt like it was a good night as far as what we learned and also I was frustrated because I felt like we should have been better than our result.”

The 10th-place finish was Wilson’s second straight top 10 at the track.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday with Wilson tackling a Ti22 Performance FAST on Dirt Series show at Waynesfield Raceway Park. A heat race win started him on the inside of the second row for the A Main.

“We were pretty good all night long,” he said. “I should have done something with bolting new tires on. That was the fourth feature on the left rear and second or third on the right rear. It’s not like they looked bad, but in hindsight it could have made a big difference in competing for the win. We fell back as far as seventh. We got back to third and we were running the leaders down. I feel like the tires sealed over. On a caution the bleeder let some air out and once it built back up we struggled right at the end and we fell to fifth. With that being said, that was a more complete night than we’ve had this year in the 410. We learned about our setup and probably the most about our motor program.”

The fifth-place performance was Wilson’s first top five in 410ci sprint car action this year and his fifth overall.

His racing plan this weekend will be contingent on how the weather looks as the weekend nears.
