Inside Line Promotions – NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (April 20, 2021) – Garet Williamson is hoping for a change of luck this weekend when he heads to a pair of dirt ovals in the Midwest.
The Bryant Paver Motorsports driver has run into misfortune throughout most of the last two months and that continued last Saturday during his debut at Park Jefferson International Speedway. Williamson was involved in an opening-lap crash during his Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour heat race that resulted in an ugly wreck.
“It was a racing deal,” he said. “We went into turn one side by side. My right rear hit his left front and we went for a ride. It got everything but the frame. We got it back together and took the green then pulled off in the A Main.”
The team has gone through the race car this week at the shop in preparation for the next ASCS National Tour event, which is this Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway near Osborn, Mo.
“We were super good at U.S. 36 Raceway last year, racing for the lead before a caution came out,” he said. “We got a flat tire and had to go to the work area. We want a confidence booster to get our luck turned around so hopefully we can have a solid night at U.S. 36 this Friday.”
This weekend is slated to conclude on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. Williamson earned a pair of top 15s at the track last year.
“I think I made the show almost every time I was there except the final night of the 360 Knoxville Nationals when we got in a crash in the C Main,” he said. “We’ve struggled with qualifying there, but have been decent with racing. We’re better at half miles and I’m more comfortable this year so I think that will set us up for a more successful night whenever we race at Knoxville.”
