(Bill W) September 1, 2011 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders head to the 3/8-mile Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Illinois this Sunday night, September 4. This will mark the second appearance of the year at Quincy for the series, and the sixth in their history. Jim Moughan Jr. picked up an exciting victory earlier this season over Memorial Day weekend, and the action is always intense at the racy facility.
“Showtime” Kaley Gharst is the only multi-time winner with the Sprint Invaders at Quincy. He swept two events there in 2009. In addition to Moughan, Ricky Logan and Matt Sutton have wins.
Sutton is coming off his seventh career win with the Invaders at 34 Raceway. The win pulled him within nine points of series’ point leader and two-time champion, the “Lil’ Dude” Bobby Mincer. Two-time series champions Gharst and “Flyin’” Ryan Jamison are in a tight battle for third as well.
The Sprint Invaders would like to thank Dennis G. Woodworth – Attorney at Law of Quincy for sponsoring the Shake-up Dash.
Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m., with grandstands opening at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:45 p.m. with racing to follow. Adult admission is $15, with Seniors priced at $12. Students 11-15 are $10, with children 10 and under FREE. For more information on the event, visit the track’s website at www.QuincyRaceways.com!
