Southwest Lightning Sprints’ Parker Dumas Looks to Double Down at Barona Speedway

Belleville, IL. (04/13/2021) After scoring a convincing feature victory with the Lucas Oil POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprint Car Series two weeks ago, San Diego California wheelman Parker Dumas will be aiming to make it two wins in a row at Barona Speedway this Saturday, April 17th with racing starting at 5:00 PM.

With his victory at Barona Speedway earlier in the season, Parker becomes the third different POWRi SWLS winner in as many races in 2021 continuing the trend of variety in the victory lanes. Indio California resident and talented teenager James Turnbull as well as top-notch racing veteran Brent Sexton, of Lakeside California, both claimed feature victories on the year after splitting the first two races of the season at Arizona’s Mojave Valley Raceway in March.

Going into the fourth race of the thirteen events in the POWRi SWLS season, David Bezio has earned an eleven-point lead over Grant Sexton as Yucca Valley’s Jeff Dyer remains close in third only ten points behind second-place Sexton, with Robert Early and previous winner Parker Dumas rounding out the top-five contenders in the championship standings.

Saturday, April 17th at Barona Speedway will see the POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints, the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Sport Compacts, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Mini Dwarfs and Junior Sprints all be in racing action.

Barona Speedway Pit-Gates will open at noon with racing beginning at 5:00 PM. Fans can bring coolers and barbecues. The track is located at 1754 Wildcat Road in Lakeside California. For more information visit www.baronaspeedway.com or call the office at (619) 749-8115.
