Ramey Eyes Potential Doubleheader Weekend Beginning With ASCS National Tour Event

Inside Line Promotions – SEDALIA, Mo. (April 12, 2021) – Gunner Ramey and the Terry Doogs Racing 360ci winged sprint car entry spent last weekend doing their homework in preparation for two potential races this week.

Ramey has kept himself busy as the next opportunity to race is Friday at 300 Raceway in Farley, Iowa, with the potential to run at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday. Both are tracks where he has not turned a lap.

Although the 18-year-old is making his first 300 Raceway appearance on Friday, so are many of the other drivers in the stout Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour field, which opens the door of opportunity for the Missouri driver.

“It levels the playing field for sure,” he said. “Everyone is going to be trying to learn the race track as fast as possible and get a feel for it. Being that not a lot of the other drivers have experience there, it’s going to be an opportunity to gain an edge. The ASCS National Tour competition is really good and a lot of learning is going to happen.”

Ramey said his three goals for the weekend are to “make the show, keep our nose clean and pass some cars,” in hopes that doing all three of those will provide a fruitful weekend for the team.

“If we can do all those things and keep the car in one piece we’re planning to run at Knoxville (Raceway) on Saturday night,” he said. “It’s slightly intimidating going to a place like Knoxville and you have to appreciate it. (Car owner) Terry Doogs has a lot of experience to lend out from former drivers such as Brian Brown, who has turned a lot of laps around the famed dirt track.”
