POWRi Midgets and Micros Ready to Battle at I-30 Speedway

Belleville, IL. (04/08/2021) The Little Rock Nationals at I-30 Speedway will host the Lucas Oil POWRi National & West Midgets, the Engler Machine & Tool 600cc Micro Sprints, and the Lucas Oil POWRi WAR Sprint cars for the two day show Friday, April 16, and Saturday, April 17th.

With five races under the POWRi Midget drivers, Michael “Buddy” Kofoid has won four of them. Kofoid was the first driver in the POWRi Record books to ever win four consecutive races in a row, let alone the first four races of the season. With two wins coming to him at Monarch Motor Speedway for the season opener and two wins at I-44 Riverside Speedway to kick off the Turnpike Challenge.

The record for most POWRi Midget wins in a season is 12, and it is held by Logan Seavey out of Sutter, CA. Prior to Seavey, Christopher Bell held the record at 11 wins. With the way Kofoid has started the 2021 season, he is on track to break the standing record of 12., and he is determined to do so.

The only driver to defeat Kofoid thus far has been the New Berlin, IL. native, Jake Neuman. Neuman found victory at Port City Raceway to close out the 8th Annual Turnpike Challenge. Neuman is also the reigning 2020 Lucas Oil POWRi Champion who Is looking to go back-to-back and chase the championship this season as well. Both drivers will compete in the upcoming two day show at i-30 Speedway in Little Rock Arkansas.

The POWRi Engler Machine & Tool 600cc Micro Sprints will also be in attendance alongside the midgets. There have been three races thus far in the season for the micros and as well as three different winners. Frank Flud, Joe B Miller, and Daison Pursley all found themselves in victory lane in Oklahoma for the Turnpike Challenge.
