Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (April 7, 2021) – Greg Wilson is returning to Attica Raceway Park this Friday seeking to take a step forward in his 410ci winged sprint car program.
Wilson invaded the dirt oval last Saturday during the Core and Main Spring Nationals featuring the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions.
“We had some problems with the car, which I was concerned about,” he said. “We’ve changed it and we want to go back to see if the changes were the right ones and send us in the right direction. That’s the best way to learn is to go to the same track where you know how the car should handle for a couple of weeks in a row. It wouldn’t be the smartest way to learn if we went to a new track this weekend and tried to make a change based on the struggles from last weekend. That’s really part of the reason why we are doing the type of schedule we have this year.”
Wilson and his Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics sponsored team were just a bit off during the All Star event last Saturday. Wilson qualified 20th quickest, placed ninth in a heat race and ended eighth in the B Main to miss transferring into the main event by only two positions.
“It was the same car and a similar setup as to what we’ve had so much success with in the 360 division this year,” he said. “It rolled around the track really well in the 360 races. The two different variables were the motor was different with it being a 410 race and then the tire package isn’t the same. The left rear tire is a better tire than we race with in the 410s. I changed some stuff around and it really didn’t help it.”
Wilson is looking forward to another opportunity to learn by returning to Attica Raceway Park this Friday for a local event.
“We’ve had a lot of laps and a lot of success at Attica so we have a good idea of how it should feel,” he said. “We’re doing some different things this week at the shop and we’ll learn quickly on Friday if we’re moving in the right direction with our 410 program.”
