Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (April 6, 2021) – Paxton Gregory rallied to overcome an early problem last Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway, which hosted the Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Hometown Challenge.

The 21-year-old had a promising run going early as he started fifth in his heat race and moved up a handful of positions before the driveline on his No. 3 Paxton Gregory Racing 360ci sprint car let go and relegated him to an eighth-place finish.

His team made repairs and got him back on track in time to start seventh in the B Main. Gregory advanced to fifth and earned the final transfer spot into the A Main. In the feature, Gregory started in the 20th position and gained six positions by the time the checkered flag was waved to finish 14th. The half-dozen positions gained were the second most of any driver in the main event.

“We had a strong outing overall,” he said. “Considering we broke in our heat race, we did a nice job to rebound and still put together some fast laps. It was tough to pass so track position was key. I think we could have had a better finish had we started closer to the front, but it was a good night for us overall.”

Gregory is turning his focus to the quarter-mile clay oval of Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., this Saturday when the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour visits for the first time in approximately 20 years. The race is also sanctioned with the ASCS Mid-South Region.

“I’ve never been there before so I’ve been watching some YouTube videos to help get prepared,” he said. “I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
