Inside Line Promotions – SIX NATIONS, Ontario, Canada (March 16, 2021) – Alex Hill is eager to kick off her racing season this weekend at Devil’s Bowl Speedway with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“I’m really excited to get back to racing,” the 21-year-old said. “This has been one of the longest times I’ve spent away from the track since I started racing sprint cars.

“I was looking forward to starting the season in California, but since that was canceled I’m happy we’ll have our first race of the year at Devil’s Bowl. It’s one of my favorite tracks and it will be nice to return to racing after a long offseason at a track we’re familiar with.”

The half-mile oval in Mesquite, Texas, hosts the 48th annual Spring Nationals on Friday and Saturday.

Hill will also be debuting a new car for the 2021 season this weekend.

“We switched to a J&J car for our primary car this year,” she said. “(Teammate) Sam (Hafertepe Jr.) has long supported J&J and has a close relationship with them so we thought we would give one of their cars a try. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works.”

The Hill’s Racing Team driver plans to compete at most of the ASCS National Tour races for the fifth consecutive year as well as tackle some other events.

“We plan to have our car at all of the ASCS National Tour races and compete for owner points,” she said. “I’ll be driving it most of the time, but I will be taking a few races off for school and other things. Someone else will drive it then. We’re not certain at this time who that will be.

“We also plan to race a few times at Knoxville when it fits our schedule.”

Hill has enjoyed spending recent time at her Canadian home while continuing her education through online courses at California State Los Angeles, from which she plans to graduate this spring. Due to government regulations, this week will probably be her last time at home for quite some time.

While travel restrictions due to COVID-19 won’t prevent Hill from crossing the Canada-U.S. border, Canadian quarantine regulations will most likely keep her from returning home until after the racing season ends in October.

“I’m able to cross the border without much problem since I have dual citizenship in both countries,” she said. “But Canada requires anyone entering the country to be quarantined for two weeks. Unfortunately, we don’t have a period of longer than two weeks without a race on our schedule so we can’t go home without missing a race.”
