Belleville, IL. (01/19/2021) Continuing to grow in entries, while moving into the third full season of outstanding POWRi sanctioning competition, the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints are highly anticipating their 2021 season schedule. With nice fantastic speed-venues hosting the tight-quarter racing battles from early April until late September including a pair of POWRi National Lightning Sprint events.
Opening the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprint 2021 racing season will witness a weekend event at Sweet Spring Motorsports Complex on Friday, April 9th, and Saturday, April 10th. Staying with the traditions of over thirty years of Kansas City area racing, the POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints will travel to I-35 Speedway, in Winston Missouri, for nine great racing nights racing from the first POWRi MLS visit on Saturday, April 17th to the series season finale on Saturday, September 25th.
Also hosting a league-leading nine events in 2021 will see Central Missouri Speedway, in Warrensburg Missouri, take center-stage for the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprint competitors. With the first series visit of the year on Saturday, April 24th as the final appearance of 2021 at CMS will be a two-day event celebrating Labor Day Weekend, with excellent racing experiences scheduled in-between.
Adding to the yearly sprinting elation, Eldon Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway will try to contain the talents of POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprinters in five separate nights throughout the season on May 15, June 19, July 3, July 24, and August 28 at the ultra-racy speedway.
Memorial Day Weekend, on May 29-30, will mark the return of the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals hosted in 2021 at Central Missouri Speedway with the POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints. After a successful event at Lake Ozark Speedway in 2019, the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals would be removed from the scheduling at Belle-Clair Speedway in 2020, due to Covid-19 regulations, making the return in 2021 even more highly anticipated. Central Missouri Speedway aims to get the action back on-track as drivers prepare for this one-of-a-kind weekend of national competition with two separate dates of excitement-laden racing action.
Potentially doubling down on the track count in 2021 for POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints could see drivers make the long journey to the north for the inaugural POWRi Lightning Sprint Summer Shootout. From August 12th through August 15th, outstanding racing venues in North Dakota and Minnesota and the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints will host top-notch drivers to test their talents in a challenging two-state four-day sweep of racing glory.
