Belleville, IL. (11/30/2020) Continuing to expand brand horizons while meeting the ever-changing demand of the industry, Performance Open Wheel Racing Incorporated will now offer fans and competitors alike the thrill of wing sprint car racing with the POWRi Desert Winged Sprint Car Series presented by MVT Services launching in 2021.
The POWRi Desert Winged Sprint Car Series presented by MVT Services has been formed with the racer, as well as the track promoter, in mind. Established as a way to bridge the gap between the hometown driving heroes and the regional racing superstars, the POWRi DWSCS will open up the season schedule with a limited number of events focusing on quality over quantity with a variety of two-day shows to make the travel worth the payback. By limiting the number of events in the series, officials will be able to work with tracks in the region to prevent scheduling conflicts and maximize potential car counts.
As the 2021 season rapidly approaches the POWRi DWSCS officials are busy finalizing a racer-friendly schedule. Repeat visits to Canyon Speedway Park will bookend the season with race-date to be determined in April and October. Aztec Speedway and Vado Speedway Park are both scheduled weekends of speed as Vado Speedway Park will host a pair of dual events on May 29-30 and September 5-6 with Aztec Speedway planning for June 11-12 as well as August 20-21. Fairgrounds Speedway in Colorado will mark the mid-way point of the race season as the hosting venue on July 2-3. Scheduling details to be released closer to the series launch, for series rules visit www.powri.com/rules/.
“We are looking forward to building a series that will be both a proving ground and stepping stone for the up-and-coming racers but also providing a place for your average weekend warrior to feel like they are competing on a big stage” series promotor Chad Tenski would state. Tenski would add, “Ultimately, the series goal is to provide the tracks with a product they will look forward to putting in front of a packed house and give the racers a fair option of competition”.
Mesilla Valley Transportation has also joined in to be the presenting sponsor for the POWRi Desert Winged Sprint car Series. Mesilla Valley Transportation is one of the largest locally owned Truck Load carriers in the U.S. Specializing in time-sensitive service between major manufacturing areas in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico borders.
Kicking off in 2021 the POWRi Desert Winged Sprint Car Series presented by MVT Services will offer a $20,000 point championship fund, with a winner’s share of $4,000 while paying out through the Top-20 finishers in the points standings.
