PETERSEN MEDIA: After having a two week hiatus from Golden State King of the West action, Andy Gregg will head to Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA and Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway this weekend for rounds 14 and 15 of the 2011 campaign.
During the last event at Antioch Speedway in July, Gregg finished fifth on the tricky, tacky 3/8 mile bullring.
With the stop in the action, Gregg and his Bret Ervin Racing team opted to bolt their 360ci power plant into the 7 Industries/Wheel Vintiques/College Cyclery sprinter and battle the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour for two nights last weekend at the Placerville Speedway.
The weekend did not go as Gregg had hoped as he failed to transfer into the feature event both nights at his home track.
This weekend Gregg returns to Ocean Speedway where he captured a fifth place finish in April before a 12th and a 13th place finish during each night of the Howard Kaeding Classic Fourth of July weekend.
Saturday marks the first KWS race in Hanford in 2011, and second of the season for Gregg as he raced at the track in February, winning his heat race, before getting upside down in the feature.
"Both these tracks are fun to race on and usually put on a great show for the fans," said Gregg. "I'm hoping we put a good weekend together."
Racing action is slated to kick off at 6:30pm both nights.
Andy and his Bret Ervin Racing team would like to thank 7industries.com, Ervin Sales Group, Wheel Vintiques, College Cyclery, The Hot Rod Shop, Autism Awareness, Guts Racing, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Jiffy-Tite, C&R Racing, Eagle Chassis, Meyer Motorsports, Hinchman Racing, and Bell for their support as they follow the 2011 King of the West Series.
