Chris Donnelly from Piermont ,New Hampshire is a racer , and a champion again. So we will say he has reached dynasty rating in here in New England. Chris won the 2020 Sprint Cars of New England points championship for his sixth career title, beating defending series champion Will Hull by only 15 points. However two years ago Donnelly had made a decision to sell his winning sprint car. He was having trouble with finding help to go race with on the weekends and decided maybe go a different direction and see what happens . Well along came his longtime friend Jason Fornwalt who had bought the car for his son Jason to drive as a rookie with SCoNE. With the purchase Chris would help Jordan get comfortable and drive both a sprint car and a dirt modified. Well Jason was having fun and so was Chris so Jason bought another car for Chris to drive. Well along comes 2020 and Chris would be driving the sprint car full time while Jordan would concentrate on the modified. Chris told Jason he would only do it if he had help. So a few night this past summer Jason Fornwalt would be crewing for two different drivers , at two different tracks , and oh yeah might as well say two different states. That's SIX two different' s , but if I added two different divisions it would be eight and we are focusing on six . Jason is just the type of car owner that Chris fit what Chris wanted to do, that's race but have fun doing it. Jason may be a little more serious when he is racing with his son , but with Chris its about fun and when they are having fun they are winning races. When the 17 shows up at the track its ready to win every week and with no pressure or drama of chasing points its just fun for the whole team of friends. With the first two months of racing being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , we were not sure if or when we would race. SCoNE was able to hold eleven races at three different tracks with state restrictions set in place. Chris was able to win three times , and have nine top five finishes , and all eleven in the top ten. Even as the series entered RumTown Speedway in early October the championship was down to just Donnelly and Hull. Both drivers didn't think they would even race in 2020 never mind contend for a title. In his heat race the 17 car broke and sent Chris to the pit are for mechanical repairs. Then after starting in the last row for the feature , Chris worked his way up to second only to get a flat tire. After that event Donnelly held a 15 point advantage over Hull and the last event on the schedule got canceled due to weather. So Chris Donnelly is your 2020 Sprint Cars of New England CHAMPION. Chris is a driver that fellow drivers look up too and respect, he wins races and titles by racing clean. That is one thing Chris has acquired over racing for 36 years. Chris Donnelly would like to thank the ones who helped make this all possible in 2020. Starting off with car owner Jason Fornwalt and his Fornwalt excavation sponsorship, along with longtime sponsor Tim Tucker from Northfield Vermont. Chris would like to thank his wife Julie for all her support along with her Vision Sign Works graphics. Chris has been using these products to win many races and championships as well.

So we have made it through the 2020racing season with SCoNE and in my opinion it was a growing year and a good one. No race day drama , all teams get along and understand racing is very competitive but also needs to be fun as well. Not many crashes until our last race which ended up a caution filled race. We had a few new teams and they did great and hopefully some more new teams next season. Like all racing series we need some sponsorship dollars to help grow our racing series. SCoNE is searching for those partners and you all can help us too. Tell your friends ,tell the companies you do business with , tell your rich long lost cousin , to look into advertising with us . And most of all THANK YOU to all who support SCoNE and help in any way. Stay tuned for more stories about our series drivers to keep you occupied during the winter months. I am not a writer but will try, there will be lots of grammar mistakes but you will get the point and be able to get the sponsorship plugs and maybe even a few will catch a few other things as well.
Until then ..
