PETERSEN MEDIA: Though he thought his 2020 season was complete, Paul Nienhiser will be in action this Saturday at Kokomo Speedway compete in both a Non-Wing Sprint Car as well as a winged 410ci car as a teammate to Chase Stockon in a second KO Motorsports entry.
“I really thought my season was over and was disappointed in how it ended with a rough night in Scott Bonar’s car,” Paul Nienhiser. “Then, earlier this week I received a phone call from KO Motorsports’ Kent Schmidt, and they wanted to run a second car at Kokomo this weekend in both divisions. I jumped at the opportunity, and I am really excited for Kokomo.”
2020 has been a strange year for drivers across the country, Nienhiser included. The Chapin, IL driver has still managed to compete in 32 races and win five feature events, and has also been able to shed the wings on a pair of occasions and find success.
While running his own equipment in non-wing action to date, Nienhiser is eager for the opportunity to jump into the KO Motorsports seat as their main focus over the last two years has been non-winged racing.
“I am beyond excited for this opportunity,” Nienhiser said. “I have a ton of winged laps under my belt so I am hoping that we run well with the Outlaws, but I am just as excited to log some laps with a non-wing team and see how I stack up, and see what I can learn from these guys.”
Based out of Southern, IN KO Motorsports was formed two years ago by Kent Schmidt, Brian Davis, and Tom Davis. As a group that likes to get together and race for fun 2020 saw Chase Stockon join the team full time as they compete with the USAC National Sprint Car Series, and claimed the Sprint Week Championship.
KO Motorsports would like to thank Hutson John Deere, Davis Brothers, Engler Machine and Tool, and LST Shocks for their continued support.
Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil, Mason Sound, Innovative Design, Bradshaw Custom Pumping, Wessler Bros.
