Inside Line Promotions – WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Oct. 15, 2020) – Channin Tankersley is invading Devil’s Bowl Speedway this weekend for the 47th annual Winter Nationals.
The half-mile oval in Mesquite, Texas, is the site of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season finale on Friday and Saturday.
“We’ve had decent success at Devil’s Bowl throughout the years and with our season winding down these two races provide a good opportunity to race against some great competition in a prestigious event,” Tankersley said.
The Old School Racing driver enters the event with confidence after he posted a career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result of 12th at the track last month. Tankersley also has a handful of top 10s in ASCS action at Devil’s Bowl Speedway during the last several years, highlighted by seventh-place showings during the Winter Nationals in 2015 and 2013.
“The pill draw will be key both nights,” he said. “You want to be in a good position for your heat race and then you’ll need to capitalize on it to set yourself up for the A Main. Hopefully that plays out in our favor and we have a fast car. If those two things align I think we have a great shot to produce a successful weekend.”
Tankersley raced last Saturday with the Sprint Car Bandits at Monarch Motor Speedway. He charged from seventh to win a heat race and was in contention to win the feature when a crash ended his night early.
