POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints Set to Spice-Up Barona Speedway

Belleville, IL. (09/28/2020) Ready to compete on Saturday, October 3rd at Barona Speedway, in Lakeside California, the POWRi Lucas Oil Southwest Lightning Sprints have thrown out the gauntlet to other open-wheel competitors around the “Sunshine State”.

Setting the bar high for outstanding on-track achievements, the POWRi SWLS has invited the neighboring Western Midget Racing Group to race. Trying to level the racing field for competitors the POWRi lighting sprints will be running wingless vs the Western Midgets powered by 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder production engines.

POWRi Lucas Oil SWLS racers will be awarded normal championship points. All Cars will be paid out by the finishing order. Saturday, October 3rd will offer some great inter-club racing action at Barona Speedway with this highly anticipated event.

Heading into round five of POWRi SWLS racing action for 2020 open-wheel journey-man Chris Crowder, fresh out of winning in POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprint racing, is atop the season standings using consistency with solid showings in all events. Feature winner Grant Sexton currently holds down the second spot in points ahead of his father Brent Sexton in third and brother Dalton Sexton in fourth with David Bezio rounding out the top-five positions in the season championship quest.

The POWRi Southwest Lightning Sprints continue next on Saturday, October 3rd back at the home-turf of Barona Speedway. Pit Gates open at Noon with Driver’s Registration 1-3 PM. Hot Laps begin at 5 PM as great racing action follows.
