Sun Prairie, WI Sept. 24, 2020-- The 84th season of the Badger Midget Series concludes Saturday night, at the Sycamore Speedway, with Chase McDermand holding a 22-point lead over Nick Baran in the driver's championship. Scott Baran previously clinched his first Badger Midget Series car owner championship at the conclusion of the last event also held at Sycamore Speedway.
Saturday's event will be sponsored by Pry-Bar Inc. and Advanced Fastening Supply and will conclude the 2020 edition of the AFS Challenge. The total purse has increased by $1,100 meaning the feature winner will take home an additional $500 and second and third place will receive an additional $300 and $200 respectively. An extra $100 will be awarded to the eleventh place finisher.
Pry-Bar Inc. has been involved in motorsports for many years supporting midget racing as well as other disciplines. The $1,500 AFS Challenge bonus awaits McDermand if he can win the event due to his win at Sycamore Speedway back on September 5th during the first half of the challenge. In the event McDermand fails to win, all drivers competing at both events will share the bonus money. AFS will also provide other various prizes for Badger Series participants at the conclusion of the night's racing.
General admission gates open at 6:00 pm, with qualifying at 6:30 pm and racing to follow.
