It's one week until 10th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, MO. (Sept. 10, 2020) - Lucas Oil Speedway will remain quiet this weekend, but it’s just one week until one of the biggest weekends of the year for dirt-track sprint-car racing as the 10th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial rolls into Wheatland for three big nights.

The Lucas Oil ASCS Winged Sprints and POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprints return Sept. 17-19 for an event that’s grown each year since its start in 2011. It honors the memories of Jesse Hockett, from Warsaw, Missouri, who was a star in both the winged and non-wing sprint divisions when he lost his life in a shop accident in 2010. His cousin and crew chief, Daniel McMillin, was killed in an automobile accident in 2006.

This year there will be no split qualifying nights with all drivers in both the winged and wingless divisions competing both Thursday and Friday as combined points from heat races, qualifiers, B-mains and A-mains will help set the lineup for Saturday night’s ASCS $10,000-to-win main event and $3,077-to-win WAR feature.

Following the completion of Friday’s program, event points will be totaled with the top eight locked in, straight up, into Saturday’s A-Feature. All other drivers will be lined up into four last-chance qualifiers on Saturday night.

One year ago, Blake Hahn of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, captured the ASCS main event and Chris Windom of Canton, Illinois, won the WAR Sprint final-night feature.

For fans coming to Lucas Oil Speedway for the first time this season, masks are not required, but they and social distancing are encouraged.
