Inside Line Promotions – MONROE, La. (Sept. 9, 2020) – Channin Tankersley earned a top-five finish last Saturday during his debut at Dirt on the Rev, which hosted an ASCS Mid-South Region and ASCS Lone Star Region event.

“It’s a beautiful facility,” he said. “The track layout was great. When we started off the night it was pretty decently slick. It had a little bit of a top and a little bit of a bottom.”

The Old School Racing driver advanced from third to second place in a heat race, which garnered a spot into the feature redraw. Tankersley pulled the No. 6 to line up on the outside of the third row for the A Main.

“We went forward a little and went backwards a little,” he said. “We were lacking a little bit of speed, but overall we were fairly decent. We needed just a little bit more to get us up there with the top three. We were a little too free all night. I felt better in the A Main. The track was pretty slick. We weren’t adjusted well enough to roll the bottom like those other guys who finished in front of us.”

The fourth-place finish was Tankersley’s eighth top five in 16 races this season. He also has 12 straight top 10s in the state of Louisiana dating back to July 2012.

Tankersley will take this weekend off before joining the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Sept. 18 at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., and Sept. 19 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, during the Texas Outlaw Nationals.
