Inside Line Promotions – MONROE, La. (Sept. 9, 2020) – Jeffrey West Jr. enjoyed his first experience on a big, high-banked track last Saturday at Dirt on the Rev.

The ASCS Mid-South Region and ASCS Lone Star Region event began with a runner-up result in a heat race.

“First off, the track and facility are top notch,” he said. “It was high banked and was the fastest I’ve been in a sprint car. I started on the pole in the heat race and battled for the lead for two or three laps. We ended up second, but we were pretty good.

“For the feature redraw they had us park by the frontstretch and had the little kids pull for us so that was cool. We made some changes with the setup for the feature and went in the wrong direction. We were just way too tight. I was pushing.”

West Jr. started eighth, but lost a couple of positions early before hanging on for a 14th-place result.

“That was the first time I’ve been on a banked, 3/8-mile track,” he said. “We know what we should do differently next time. We’re still trying to figure everything out. That’s where we’re going to struggle is when we go to the bigger tracks. That’s what this year is all about is learning.”

West Jr., who ranks third in the ASCS Mid-South Region championship standings, returns to action with the series this Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. The event is co-sanctioned with the ASCS Lone Star Region.
