Inside Line Promotions – COLUMBIA, Mo. (Sept. 2, 2020) – Garet Williamson took last weekend off from competing.
But the Bryant Paver Motorsports driver wasn’t totally separated from racing. He watched the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races on DIRTVision and tried to pick up a thing or two to take into this weekend.
The 20-year-old Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour rookie is riding a strong season filled with momentum and confidence into Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., this Saturday and Sunday to compete with the ASCS Warrior Region during the 11th annual LOS 360 Nationals.
“It’s always nice to relax, but at the same time you always wish you were at a race track,” Williamson said. “I would always much rather be out there racing, but it’s nice to watch once in a while.
“It makes me more anxious to get back to the track and race, especially watching the Outlaws guys. You can learn so much by watching them and there are so many things you can take away from it. So I love to sit down and watch them.”
A year ago, Williamson made his debut in a sprint car in front of the hometown crowd at Lake Ozark Speedway. Since then, he’s won two events at the track.
Williamson’s latest triumph came two weeks ago. He’s hoping to carry that confidence into this weekend’s event and celebrate another trip to Victory Lane in front of friends and family.
“We have two wins there, with my first win coming there and picking up the win two weeks ago,” he said. “I’m always excited to get back to that place. It always races good.
“Actually, I had my first sprint car race in this event last year, so it will be cool to see how far we have come as a team in a year. We get to run in front of the home fans and hopefully we can put on a show.”
