PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night during the 10th round of 2011 California Civil War Series at the Petaluma Speedway, Shawn Wright’s night was cut short after contact late in the B-main, while running in a transfer position, ended the Lodi, CA residents night prematurely.
During heat race action, Wright was forced high in the first set of turns, and the field strung out with Wright in the 7th spot, on the outside of a transfer spot. After finishing in the seventh spot, Wright was forced to transfer to the 30-lap feature by way of the B-main.
In the semi-main, Wright and his Wright Process Systems/A D Landscaping/A.R.T. worked his way into a transfer position with three laps to go until disaster struck.
While running in the sixth spot, contact with Chase Johnson sent the Performance Powder Coat/MD Motorsports/BR Motorsports & Shock Tuning backed entry into a spin forcing Wright to line up at the back of the field.
Wright was able to work his way up to ninth, unfortunately missing out on the transfer to the feature.
“We missed it a little bit in our heat, and got stuck in the B,” explained Wright. “In the B I thought we were decent, unfortunately we were in the wrong place at the wrong time once we got into a transfer spot and basically ended our night.”
Shawn and his Wright Motorsports team would like to thank Wright Process Systems, Performance Powder Coat, A S Landscaping, M D Motorsports, Hixco, ART Speed Equipment, BR Motorsports & Shock Tuning for their continued support.
ON TAP: Up next for the Wright Motorsports team will be round No.11 for the California Civil War Series, as the scene shifts to historic Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, CA on August 6th, 2011 for the running of the Calistoga Cup.
