Belleville, IL. (08/24/2020) Following local and state guidelines the POWRi Lucas Oil Southwest Lightning Sprint series is finally able to return to the racing surfaces of southern California. Running a limited schedule of bi-weekly events at Barona Speedway in Lakeside California, competitors will flex their driving might on the quarter-mile track.
For the first time since March, the POWRi Lucas Oil Southwest Lightning Sprints will return to Barona Speedway every other week starting on Saturday, September 5th. Additional bonuses are on the line for drivers with sponsored laps and 911EDA Inc. stepping up to sponsor the hard charger award as well. All adding to the excitement of Lightning Sprint racing returning to Southwest California.
The POWRI Lucas Oil Southwest Lightning Sprints last witnessed racing action back in March with two separate events kicking off their season before external circumstances would shut down their season for a prolonged period. David Cardey and Dalton Sexton have both claimed a feature win, with a come-back prevalent who will be the next driver to log a feature victory with the SWLS.
On Saturday, September 5th Barona Speedway pits will open at 1 PM with Driver’s Registration scheduled 2-4 PM. Hot laps start at 5 PM with great racing excitement to follow.
