Allard Fights For Fourth

Saturday night at the Antioch Speedway in Antioch, CA, Jonathan Allard overcame a lap two spin, and charged his famed Williams Motorsports No.0 machine to a hard fought fourth place finish.

As the 30-lap tout got underway, JA found himself starting mid pack, and rolling off in the 11th position.

As the field stayed bunched up the first couple of laps, Allard lost the handle in the middle of turns one and two, and was forced to restart in the 22nd position with 28-markers to charge his way back forward.

When the race restarted, Allard simply put on a show for the fans. The Chico, CA resident utilized the top of the track in turns one and two to make moves and both the top and bottom in three and four, to go where they weren’t.

In just three circuits, Allard and charged through traffic on the narrow track and moved into the eighth spot in just three laps putting on a show for the packed crowd.

After the caution flew on lap five, the next 10- laps went non stop and saw JA and Kenny Allen duel for the seventh spot. JA was able to get around Allen in turns one and two and take the over the seventh position as the yellow waved at the halfway point.

On the restart, Allard was able to drive around Andy Gregg in the first set of turns, as he advanced to the sixth spot, before the red flag flew on the 19th lap for a trio of cars in the top five.

Restarting in fourth with 11 markers remaining, Allard put persistent pressure on third running, Bobby McMahan, for the third spot, but ran out of time, as the checkered flag flew with Allard all over the rear bumper of McMahan.

“The night got off to a rough start tonight as we didn’t qualify very well,” said Allard. “We were okay in our heat but didn’t make the dash so we had to start a little deep in the feature. I messed up in lap two, but the car was good enough to get back through traffic and we ended up with a pretty good night. I have to thank Morrie and Katie Williams for their continue support and Ashley Smith and all my guys for their work tonight.”
