NYPA TQ MIDGETS ADDED TO SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, AT LAKE ERIE SPEEDWAY AS PART OF THE 31ST ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO TOMMY DRUAR AND JANKOWIAK

Saturday, August 15, at Lake Erie Speedway is quickly becoming one of the most exciting shows in the history of the speedway. The NYPA TQ Midgets will now be joining the program for a 25-lap feature event after the extensive efforts of TQ Midget racer Andy Nye of Buffalo, N.Y., and NYPA President, former racer and track Champion Charlie DiRosa of West Seneca, N.Y., the T.Q. Midgets will join the card at Lake Erie Speedway as part of the 31st Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar and Tony Jankowiak on Saturday, August 15.

The last time the NYPA Midgets visited Lake Erie Speedway was in 2018. Bobby Holmes of Lockport, N.Y., was the most recent feature winner in a Race of Champions T.Q. Midget Series race at the track this past June. The NYPA Midgets will run a 25-lap feature along with their qualifying races.

Advance tickets and camping spaces are on sale and moving for the 31st Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar / Tony Jankowiak 110 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., on Saturday, August 15, 2020. The Race of Champions Super Stock Series and Race of Champions Street Stock Series and Race of Champions Four Cylinder Dash Series will also race in 37-lap features.

Masks or facial coverings will be required (when you are within 6 feet of anyone) and social distancing will be practiced due to state and county established restrictions due to COVID-19 as Erie County Pennsylvania remains in the “green” phase of the state’s reopening plan.

Phased reopening in all states varies based on the guidelines set forth by local, regional and state authorities. Current regulations and restrictions (no live audiences/fans) are permitted in New York State and it is not financially feasible for many speedways and series, including the Race of Champions to conduct racing events at various speedways.

All Race of Champions events that are run will follow all guidelines as set forth by any authority (local, regional, state or federal) including the CDC.

The Race of Champions will continue to utilize their contactless points of purchase, membership and event registration which was introduced at the June 26 and 27 events at Lake Erie Speedway.
