Inside Line Promotions – PLYMOUTH, Ind. (Aug. 3, 2020) – Jason Sides is heading to one of his favorite tracks this weekend.
Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., hosts Sides and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday during the Ironman 55. Sides won a World of Outlaws event at the oval in 2012.
“It’s always one of those things where we look forward to going there,” he said. “We have done well and it’s always a fun track to run whether you’re in the front or the back. Plus it’s close to home so some more family and friends will get to come out to watch.”
Sides placed 17th and 18th at the track during a World of Outlaws doubleheader in May.
“It’s usually a little hotter this time of year and the track dries out quicker,” he said. “The spring race stays a little wetter than it does this weekend. It’s usually hot, humid and muggy. They call it the Ironman for a reason. It really is because it’s so hot.”
Sides ran into a pair of rainouts last weekend. Saturday’s show at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, was postponed in the afternoon. Sunday’s event at Plymouth Speedway made it halfway through the program. Sides qualified 13th quickest and finished fifth in a heat race to lock into the main event. However, rain invaded the area prior to the features and forced the event to be postponed.
