Tom Brown Banks Nevada Speedway Victory with POWRi Midwest Lightning Sprints

Belleville, IL. (08/02/2020) Marking several years since the last visit and in the first and only appearance at Nevada Speedway for 2020, the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints would find the speedy racing surface to their liking with side-by-side action everywhere for almost every position on the track. Using experience and skill, Tom Brown would emerge as the feature winner, gaining the first win of 2020 for the former MLS point’s champion.

Tom Brown #b20 and Brad Ryun #13 would try to keep the heat race-winning momentum going into the feature, as an invert would see the two prelim winners having their work cut out for them when the initial green waved on the main event. Kenny Bowers #49b and Alex Davis #42 would set the pace for the field with action throughout the pack. With Bowers leading several laps, Tom Brown would drive quickly from a fifth starting spot to claim the lead and on to the night’s victory lane. Bowers would stay in the hunt upfront until a braking issue would see him fade in the later stages.

Brad Ryun would be in hot pursuit all feature finishing in the runner-up position as Chase Fischer #22 continues to impress spectators with another great showing rounding out the podium. Point Leader Stanley Kreisel #18 would struggle in heat race action only to recover impressively in the feature, claiming the hard-charger award driving from starting twelfth to finishing fourth. Previous winner Brandon Smith #11 remains close in the 2020 MLS points battle with a solid fifth-place performance, staying withing 80 points of Kreisel atop the standings. POWRi MLS would like to thank McGee Racing Cams for their added sponsorship of the feature event, as well as the Rod End Supply and Oskvig Accounting for their continued support. MLS would also like to thank Nevada Speedway for the outstanding track surface and great hosting facility.
