(Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, July 25, 2020)--Derek Crane of Waukegan, IL scored his first Autometer/Brewington Electric Wisconsin Wingless Sprint Wilmot Raceway feature victory in over three years on Saturday, July 25. Crane, running second at the time, took over the lead when race leader Jimmy Sivia ended up going over the turn three berm bringing out a caution. Sivia retired from the event.
Crane went on to his first Wilmot main event win since June, 2017, and second of his career. Trevor's Jordan Paulsen took second outdueling Sharon's Scott Hatton who finished third.
Wilmot Raceway's 1/3-mile clay oval hosts five divisions next Saturday, August 1. Wingless sprints, modifieds, street stocks, Bandit 4-cylinder stock cars and IRA Lightning Sprints will all be in action. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with hot laps at 6:00 and racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $15.00 for ages 12 & over; $5.00 for ages 7-11; with ages 6 & under admitted free.
