Belleville, IL. (07/25/2020) In their first-ever sanctioned series visit to Monett Motor Speedway, the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League would tackle the tricky track as racing conditions seemed to change throughout the feature. With the inside line having the most speed, Riley Kreisel would use throttle control to cruise past all competitors picking up his fourth win of the season.
Momentum around Monett Moto Speedway for the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League would be plentiful in the feature event Saturday night as point leader Riley Kreisel #91 would lead all laps on his way to the feature victory. “The car felt good, we knew the track was going to change and with no outside wall building a cushion was going to be tough, so our main goal was to win the initial start and be there at the end.” Kreisel would cheerfully state in the post-race celebrations. Riley would lead the field to green from a pole starting spot after claiming the high-point qualifier award with heat race winner Kyle Bellm #14e completing the front row.
Although Bellm would put up quite the battle with Kreisel early, the hot streak of Riley out front when the checkers' wave continues. Five years have elapsed since the last time Kyle Bellm raced a non-wing sprinter and would prove why he is a top talent in any division, placing in the runner-up position. Slater Helt #22s and Jason Billups #2 would battle inch for inch in the closing laps with Helt developing a bleeder issue, side by side on the white flag lap Slater would hang on to round out the podium with the constantly improving Billups placing fourth. Jack Wagner #77 would suffer a blown tire coming off turn four in the heat race, rolling down the front-stretch Wager would emerge from the wreck unharmed, but the car was worse for wear. Quickly thrashing the Wagner team would be able to make the call for the feature, placing fifth.
