The 43rd annual Hy-Miler week action gets started on Wednesday July 22 with the Sandusky Karting Series on their 1/8th mile dirt track. The gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Admission is $10. Fan Appreciation Night will be on Thurs. July 23. Admission is only one dollar and the first 200 fans will be admitted free. There will also be one dollar hot dogs, Pepsi products and beer. The Renegades have a $300 to win / $30 to start feature race. The Street Stocks and Beginner Stocks will be in action. The Vintage Race Cars will also be on hand. The pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. Grandstand admission starts at 4:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.
On Fri. July 24, the International Super Modified Association (ISMA) Supermodifieds highlight the evening with their "Fast Forty" feature race. The Modifieds are the support division and have a 30 lap feature paying $900 to the winner. Grandstand admission at 4 p.m., racing at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $25, $8 ages 6-12.
The ISMA Supermodifieds 100 lap feature is the featured event on Sat. July 25. The Modifieds have a 40 lap / $1,000 to win feature. The Sandusky Speedway Hall of Fame inductions will also take place. Adult admission is $30, $8 ages 6-12. the main gate opens early at 1 p.m., racing at 7 p.m.
Congratulations to last weeks feature winners Johnny Newman (Pure Stocks), Dan Smith (Renegades) and Jaden McCall (Beginner Stocks).
Kevin Jaycox Jr. has taken over operations of the Sandusky Karting Series as of last weekend. Steven Pocock who was in charge of the series had to relinquish the position due to work scheduling conflicts. The Sandusky Karting Series has a double header this weekend. Today the Go-Karts Unlimited All Stars (UAS) Grand Nationals show pays out $250 to win. Camping for this event is free plus there will be kids activities and a Hy-Miler kick off party. Admission is $10. The gates open at 1 p.m., practice at 2 p.m., racing at 4 p.m. On Sun. the gates open early at 10 a.m. practice is at noon, racing at 2 p.m. Call Sandusky Speedway at (419) 625-4084.
