Bryan Hulbert – BILLINGS, Mont. (July 15, 2020) Working closely with tracks in Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming to hammer out events amid everyone dealing with the lasting effects of COVID-19, the Brodix ASCS Frontier Region is finally ready to return to racing.
While the dates are still subject to change as states step forward and back with different regulations, there are currently 11 events on the lineup. Adding three to that list is Big Sky Speedway, located just north of Billings, Mont. starting with the track expanding their originally July 25 event to a two-night affair, dubbed the ASCS Frontier Big Sky 360 Nationals, presented by Kirkness Roofing.
The other two nights are Saturday, August 15, and Saturday, August 29.
For the upcoming shows on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 15, the Friday potion will offer a $1,500 to win, $300 to start A-Feature with Saturday upping the cash to $2,000 to win, $400 to start. The format will follow ASCS Draw and Passing Points, except for a Last Chance Dash that will see the lowest six cars in overall passing points drawing for their starting spot. The Dash on Friday will pay $75 to win, $50 to start. Saturday will be $100 to win the dash, $75 for second, and $50 to start.
A special thanks go out to Josh Stagg and Jerry Brey for helping spearhead the added dates and money.
Looking at remaining dates, the series will have one final trip to Rapid City’s Black Hills Speedway on Friday, July 31. The August 1 date at Gillette has been scratch due to COVID-19 restrictions. Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, will see the series at Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wy. The track slated for another two-day showdown on Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5.
The only dates on the lineup that are still in question are August 28 and September 11 at Gallatin Speedway in Bozeman, Mont. as track officials continue to work with the local government to get the track open.
