Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (July 14, 2020) – Roger Crockett posted his third consecutive top-five outing with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour last Saturday.
Crockett scored a fourth-place finish during his first start at Riverside International Speedway since his debut in June 2005.
“In the heat race we had a pretty good car and we felt good,” he said. “We started on the outside of the front row and won so that put us in a good spot for the feature.”
Crockett made the feature redraw and pulled the No. 6 to line up on the outside of the third row for the A Main.
“We got into fourth by Lap 3 or Lap 4,” he said. “I spent most the race right on third place. We were right there. A couple of times we could have pulled up next to him, but I didn’t want to show him my nose. It just never panned out. We got into traffic one time. We were right there with all the leaders in the same corner, but that one yellow that came out disposed of that.”
Crockett continues to rank second in the championship standings thanks to the fourth-place finish.
The next ASCS National Tour event is Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, Mo. Crockett won a heat race and finished second in the main event during his debut at the high-banked oval last year.
