Busy July Continues for Kraig Kinser in Wisconsin this Weekend

Granger, IA—July 6, 2011—July traditionally is the busiest month of the season for the World of Outlaws and the time of the year that drivers enjoy the most, as they are able to compete every couple of days. That will remain the case in 2011, as the series will race 14 times at 11 different tracks in five states and two Canadian Provinces during the month. For Kraig Kinser, who is in his first season driving the Casey’s General Store Maxim for the Parsons Motorsports team, he is looking forward to the 29-day stretch as he and the team continue to mesh and work their way into a rhythm.

Kinser will take to the track twice this weekend in Wisconsin, beginning on Friday, July 8 at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond and Saturday, July 9 at Beaver Dam Raceway.

The native of Bloomington, Ind. made his debut at Cedar Lake Speedway in 2003, finishing fourth, which to-date is his best career finish at the high-banked and ultra-fast 3/8-mile. He has made a total of six starts at the track in Western Wisconsin, finishing among the Top-15 in four of those starts. He was 20th last season at Cedar Lake.

The third generation driver also made his debut at Beaver Dam Raceway in 2003. He finished seventh the following season, which has been his best-career finish at the 1/3-mile bullring in eight starts. He has picked up four Top-10 finishes at the track over the years, including an eighth-place effort on July 6, 2005 and a couple of 10th-place performances in each of his last two starts at Beaver Dam. Last season Kinser used a provisional to line up 25th at the track, charging to the front, passing 15 cars en route to a 10th-place finish.

Kinser enter the pair of events this weekend 12th in the World of Outlaws championship standings, just 23 markers out of the 10th position on the strength of 10 Top-10 and two Top-Five finishes.

Kraig on Cedar Lake Speedway:
“Last year Cedar Lake was probably the fastest it’s ever been in the handful of times I’ve raced there. I’ve had a couple of good runs there over the years and hopefully some of things I’ve learned there in the past, we can apply this coming weekend. As always, qualifying will be a key and making it into the dash to start toward the front of the feature.”

Kraig on Beaver Dam Raceway:
“I was able to make up a lot of ground at Beaver Dam last year coming from the back of the field, so if we can start toward the front, I think we’ll be ok. With the way the format is with the World of Outlaws and with how tough the competition is, it’s tough to come from the back and really contend for wins. You need to make the dash to have a realistic chance each night. Beaver Dam has some great fans and usually the track is very racy. We’ve been able to get both races in each of the last two weekends, so hopefully that’s the case again this week.”
