Belleville, IL. (7/9/2020) Due to ongoing coronavirus constraints, Performance Open Wheel Racing Incorporated have updated league schedules through August in effort to adhere to ongoing public gathering restrictions and special limitations on a state by state basis.
POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League scheduling changes include the cancelation of Jacksonville Speedway-July 24th, Tri-City Speedway-July 25th, and Belle-Clair Speedway-July 31st, August 21st, September 5th, September 6th, and October 3rd.
The POWRi National and West Midget Leagues, as well as the POWRi Engler Machine and Tool 600cc Outlaw Micro League, will still see plenty of racing as the Illinois Speedweek(end) roars to back with three-straight nights of action. First, on Friday, July 31st both POWRi Midget and Micro Leagues will battle for supremacy at Jacksonville Speedway, followed by a trip to Macon Speedway on Saturday, August 1st, then wrapping up the 2020 Illinois Speedweek(end) in style at Lincoln Speedway on Sunday, August 2nd.
Racing action continues as planned at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Speedway for a two-day stay on August 7th and 8th with the annual running of the Ironman 55. Mighty Macon Speedway will again host the POWRi Midget and Micro Leagues on Saturday, August 22nd with a return to the fast-paced action of Jacksonville Speedway on Sunday, August 23rd.
Hard 8 Racing is proud and excited to announce in collaboration with the Donnie Ray Crawford Legacy Foundation, Port City Raceway, and the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League to bring the Inaugural “Donnie Ray Crawford Sooner State 55”. Thursday, October 15th Port City Raceway will host the POWRi Lucas Oil National and West Midget Leagues for feature racing events with a twist. The A-Feature will be a 55-lap action-packed racing spectacle with $5,550 going to the winner. More details will be coming soon, making this a great way to lead into the Season Championship at Creek County Speedway for all POWRi Leagues on October 16th-17th.
As for the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League, the continuation of $2000 to win shows at Valley Speedway (7/18) and Monett Motor Speedway (7/25) are still scheduled as planned. The “Osky-Challenges” at Southern Iowa Speedway has altered the date of the annual running of the $3000 to win Sage Fruit Ultimate Front Row Challenge, now set for Sunday, August 9th. Valley Speedway on Saturday, August 18th has been removed from the POWRi WAR schedule with the “King of Kansas City” now racing on Saturday, July 18th. Central Missouri Speedway (8/22), Missouri State Fair (8/23), and Tri-City Speedway (8/28) have all been confirmed as originally scheduled.
The weekend of Labor Day the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League will now head to “The Lake” on Saturday, September 5th, and Sunday, September 6th. With the cancelation of 34 Raceway (9/5) and Bethany Speedway (9/6), Lake Ozark Speedway has decided to bring back the “LOS Non-Wing Nationals."
Valley Speedway scheduled for September 12th and September 26th have been removed from the POWRi WAR schedule, with the Helm Family Memorial at Valley Speedway now slated for Saturday, August 29th. All other originally scheduled race-dates remaining on the POWRi website are confirmed.
