Bryan Hulbert – SAPULPA, Okla. (June 27, 2020) Working on the season’s sixth weekly racing series event, a field of 92 competitors gathered this past Saturday night at Creek County Speedway with victories going to Avery Goodman, Tyler Lacy, Michael Longacre, Chad Davis, and Ryan Early.
The first win of the season for Avery Goodman, the 25-lap affair began with the Broken Arrow driver to the inside of the second row. Able to battle his way forward, the checkered flag dropped with Danny Smith in pursuit from sixth and Will Scribner clawing from 10th to complete the night’s podium. Jase Randolph from 13th and Casey Wills made up the top five.
Four races back and two wins in his last two starts, Tulsa’s Chad Davis topped the Modifieds over Ho Dean with Kendall Shultz in third. Collin Wiseley from seventh made it to fourth with James Esmound in fifth. The night’s biggest hard charger, Tyler Lacy made an astounding run from 17th to first in Factory Stock competition for this third triumph of the season. Donnie Wright crossed second with Shawn Brownlee third after starting 10th. Chris Bales form 12th and Coby McLain from 11th made the top five.
Also notching his third win of the season, Michael Longacre led the way win Mini Stocks over Adrien Hickman, Wesley Knebel, Dee Denton, and Kevin McSperitt, Jr.
After a rough showing on June 13 that resulted in a DNS, Ryan Early rebounded to victory with the 600cc Modifieds. His first win of the year, Early was pursued to the finish by Frankie Bardaro, who climbed from eighth, with James Terry moving from seventh to third. James Waters and Justin McBride, from 11th, completed the top five.
Racing at Creek County Speedway resumes on Saturday, July 4 with a Fireworks Show planned after the races. Feature classes on Saturday include Champ 305 Sprints, Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Junior Mini Stocks.
Admission is $10 for adults. Youth 11-14 will are admitted for $6 and kids 10 and under get into the grandstands for free. Pits Passes are $30 (under 10 years of age is $15). Special Event prices will be posted to the Creek County Speedway website, as well as Social Media.
Saturday events open at 5:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:00 P.M. and Racing at 7:30 P.M. (CT).
