The Race of Champions family of Series and Lake Erie Speedway management are ready to go this coming weekend at Lake Erie Speedway with the “Bash by the Lake” event. Two nights of thrilling racing excitement to kick off the Race of Champions Modified Series season.
On Friday, June 26, the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified, Super Stock and Four Cylinder Dash Series headline the card. On Saturday, June 27, the Race of Champions Modified Series will do battle for 75-laps. They will be joined once again by the Four Cylinder Dash and T.Q. Midget Series.
Fans will be permitted for the event and fans are encouraged to purchase their discounted tickets online at www.lakeeriespeedway.com. Online tickets are available at $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday before taxes and fees.
The racing events at Lake Erie will not be shown or available to stream. Fans must attend to see the action.
Tickets and pit passes are encouraged to be purchased electronically. Pit passes are now available on the PitPay app. There will be ticketing and pit pass windows open at the event
The Modified race will pay the winner $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start, while the Sportsman Modified race will pay $2,000-to-win and $200-to-start. The Super Stocks will compete for $1,000-to-win and the Four Cylinder Dash Series will race for $333.33 each night. Purses are posted in the series Competition Formats available on the Series website www.rocmodifiedseries.com.
Masks or facial coverings will be recommended and social distancing will be practiced due to state and county established restrictions due to COVID-19 as Erie County Pennsylvania moves into the “green” phase of the state’s reopening plan.
Phased reopening in all states varies based on the guidelines set forth by local, regional and state authorities. Until spectators are permitted In New York it is not financially feasible for many speedways and series, including the Race of Champions management plan at Spencer Speedway, to conduct racing events.
All Race of Champions events that are run will follow all guidelines as set forth by any authority including the CDC.
The Race of Champions will be introducing their contactless points of purchase, membership and event registration in the next two weeks.
