Unfortunately with the Afton Motorsports Park not opening until the weekend of July 3rd, a mutual decision was made between weekend promoter Brett Deyo, and the USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series, to postpone this weekends events. It was agreed that we did not want to risk our drivers and teams having to make an extremely long haul for just one event in New York.
Together with promoter Brett Deyo, We will work together to look for a suitable dates to reschedule the weekend in the 2020 season. If a suitable 2 day weekend for the Afton Motorsports Park, Fonda Speedway weekend is not found in 2020, the weekend will stay on the series schedule for the 2021 season.
The Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series now turns its attention to the legendary Orange County Fair Speedway on July 2nd to kick off, Valley Forge Inc, Mini Speedweek. What was supposed to be a mid-season treat, has rapidly evolved into the series season opener.
The show at Orange County has been confirmed, the details of with or without fans has not yet been determined by the speedway and the state. Following the show at Orange County, the series will move to the Big Diamond Raceway on July 3rd for a modified and USAC Sprint car double header.
The July 4th event at the New Egypt Speedway is scheduled to close out the 2020 Mini Speedweek and is tentatively on as scheduled. The New Egypt Speedway is currently working with local and state officials to hopefully be the Saturday closer for series three race Independence Day Weekend.
We apologize for the late announcement of this weekends postponement, but every possible option was being examined and evaluated.
As always, stay tuned to the Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast, Twitter and Facebook pages for upcoming news about future events on the 2020 season. We simply can not wait until we get to see all of our drivers, teams, and fans!!
