In a barn burner of a feature event, Matt Juhl would take the checkered in Friday’s main event at the Jackson Motorplex for the Property Solutions of America Midwest Sprint Touring Series and DeKalb/Asgrow Midwest Power series.
“I was really worried at the beginning when he got out in front of me” said Juhl in victory lane.
He was talking about Lee Grosz. Grosz, a former MSTS champion took the initial lead of the feature. Grosz would show the way for the first seven laps before Juhl took the lead. On the next lap, Grosz was back out front as they battled for the top spot in heavy traffic.
On the fifteenth lap, Juhl made a move in turn four to take over the lead, and he’d go onto the win from there.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been here,” said Juhl in victory lane. “I haven’t won here since the old Jackson.”
Following Juhl and Grosz to the checkered was Eric Lutz, Jack Dover and Chris Martin. The AutoLand Hard Charger award went to sixth place finishing Justin Henderson, who had started in position 24.
