Belleville, IL. (06/07/2020) Seventeen POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprint drivers would make the trip to I-76 Speedway for race number three of the 2020 racing season to compete in the Al Wilson Memorial races on Saturday night. After a brief but heavy rainstorm delayed the racing program for several hours and the cancellation of the heat racing action, race fans were treated to a smooth and tacky track that made for some fast lap times.
The non-wing racing went green for most of the feature with #39X Dakota Dillin and #24B Johnny Boos taking off for a spirited dual for the top two spots followed by #31 Steve Becker until a red flag was thrown due to a nasty flip of the #26 Chris Crowder car in turn four. The driver was unharmed but unable to rejoin the field to finish the feature. Restarting with a few laps left the duo of Dillin and Boos went back to battling for the lead until Boos was able to capitalize on taking the checkered flags for his second win in a row. Dillin followed closely behind in second, as #3J Joel Mellon placed third. BJ Sauer #21 and #31 Steve Becker would round out the speedy top five.
