USAC WSO FIRES UP FRI. & SAT. AT MONARCH & ADA
Speedway, Indiana (June 1, 2020)………At last, the USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma season gets underway, and in grand fashion, with a doubleheader weekend starting Friday, June 5, at Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas followed the next night by a stop at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada on Saturday, June 6.
The Red River Rivalry weekend starts at Monarch and marks the first USAC WSO points race for the 2020 season, paying $1,250-to-win. Larry’s Marine Center in Wichita Falls has stepped up by adding $100 for the hard charger, $100 to the last car on the lead lap at the finish and an extra $250 to the feature winner.
At the Ada race, meanwhile, the feature winner will collect $1,000 courtesy of Chopper Hopper Saloon.
Two-time and defending USAC WSO driver champion Brett Wilson (Coweta, Okla.) won at both Monarch and Ada during the 2019 season while Johnny Kent (Kiefer, Okla.) took the second Monarch feature race a year ago.
Both events are open to spectators.
Friday at Monarch, pits open at 5pm central time, grandstands at 6:30pm, draw cutoff at 7:15pm, hot laps at 7:30pm and racing at 8pm. USRA Modifieds, Limited Mods, Factory Stocks, Tuners and Mini-Stocks are also on the event card. General admission for ages 12-54 are just $15. Seniors (age 55+) or First Responders are $10. Kids age 6-11 are $5. Pit passes are $35 apiece for adults, and $15 for those who are ages 6-11.
Saturday at Ada, gates open at 5pm central, with hot laps at 7pm and racing at 8pm.
