Inside Line Promotions – NEVADA, Mo. (May 24, 2020) – Jade Avedisian defended her lead in the championship standings in style on Sunday at Nevada Speedway, where the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division made its first-ever visit.
Avedisian captured both the Winged ‘A’ Class and Restricted ‘A’ Class feature victories while Timothy Watson III produced a triumph in the Stock Non-Wing main event.
Watson III kicked off the feature competition by holding off 10th-starting Colby Sokol for his first career Stock Non-Wing win with the series. Gavan Boschele placed third with Bryant Wiedeman maneuvering from 15th to fourth. Trevor Peden rounded out the top five.
The class featured a division-best 32 entrants with Seth Pugh, Skylar Rhoades, Boschele and Watson III earning heat race wins. Wiedeman and Josh Voorhees were the B Main winners.
Avedisian produced her first career Winged ‘A’ Class victory with the series. Kyle Thompson was the runner up with Wiedeman charging from 24th to third. Pugh finished fourth and Ryan Timms was fifth.
Thompson, Pugh and Avedisian each claimed a heat race triumph.
Avedisian was victorious for the fourth time this season during Restricted ‘A’ Class action. Garrett Benson garnered a second-place outing with 12th-starting Hailey Taylor placing third, Tyler Kuykendall fourth and Collin Mitchell fifth.
Benson, Avedisian and Kayden Cole won the heat races.
The Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division will resume competition next month during the Sooner 600 Week, which features five straight nights of action at five different tracks. The races are June 10 at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan.; June 11 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.; June 12 at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Okla.; June 13 at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla.; and June 14 at Arkoma Speedway in Arkoma, Okla.
