Belleville, IL. (05/01/2020) In what started as a way to pass the time until POWRi competitors could get back to the normalcy of dirt track racing quickly took on a life of its own, with outstanding side-by-side racing and nail-biting photo-finishes. Reaching the final week in the season the POWRi Midget iRacing League will round out the year trying to tame the illustrious appeal of Eldora Speedway. Tuesday, May 5th drivers from all over will enter the virtual high-banked half-mile world of the “Big E” with ideas of earning the top prize.
Heading into the final points race for the POWRi Midget iRacing League season, the familiar face of last week's winner #09 Daison Pursley resides at the top of the charts with two wins and a pair of seconds to boot. Emerson Axsom #42 continues to turn heads with great top-ten outings each week currently sitting second in the standings just twenty-five points back. Averaging a fifth-place finish over the previous two events, young Jacob Denney #7 keeps climbing the standings landing in the third spot this week thirty-four points behind Pursley. Hoping to rebound from a miscue while leading last week, series front-runner #4 Robert Dalby goes into Eldora only fifty-eight points back in fourth as #37 Aiden Purdue rounds out the season standings top five trailing Daison by seventy-two points.
The POWRi Midget iRacing League will next see the green flag at digital Eldora Speedway on Tuesday night, featuring both simulated and physical competitors. The POWRi Midget iRacing League will continue as an open registration at this time with rooms opening at 7:00 pm CST. Drivers must be present and ready to enter at that time to gain entry with only 64 spots available for competitors. Any current POWRi League drivers planning on participating who have not registered should message POWRi West Midget League on Facebook via Eric Fenton.
