Bryan Hulbert – LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (April 24, 2020) With Michigan’s Governor announcing the stay-at-home order through May 15, 2020, officials at I-96 Speedway have been forced to postpone the rematch between the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network and Great Lake Super Sprints to Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29.
“A big thank you goes out to Jeff Dice at I-96 Speedway and Barry Marlow with the Great Lakes Super Sprints for working with us and allowing our series to be a part of their events. They took a chance with a two-day show last year and we had great success with it. We look forward to getting back to Michigan later this year and hope the fans are ready for a good time,” said ASCS National Director, Matt Ward.
On when the series might see racing again, Ward stated, “That’s hard to say. Again, we go week by week and operate on what the tracks can do. We’re aiming at a moving target and it feels like we’re doing it blindfolded while spinning.”
Information regarding the rescheduled showdown between ASCS and GLSS will be posted as the event nears.
