As the United States fights the COVID-19 Pandemic, one of the most impacted areas remains the sports world, which includes the vast realm of motorsports. Every major touring series from IndyCar to the USAC National Tour, to your local speedway’s have been affected by the pandemic. The Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car series is no different and we have been forced to postpone our season opening events.
Due to State and Federal regulations, our season opener scheduled for tonight, Friday, April 3rd at the Williams Grove Speedway has been postponed. Also, next weeks doubleheader scheduled for the Bedford Speedway on April 10th, and the series debut at the Greater Cumberland Speedway on April 11th have also been postponed.
We remain in contact with all three speedways to find a suitable rescheduling date that works with both our own touring schedule, and with each tracks schedule. We know that many area speedway’s will be working to reschedule with touring series and hopefully suitable dates will be found.
Along with all of the tracks we are scheduled to compete at, we will remain in contact and stay vigilant as to when our season will get the green light to begin. We are hopeful that month of May will not suffer the same fate as April, but we are in an ever evolving and changing situation as a country.
Until our season begins, we hope all of our drivers, teams, officials, and fans stay safe and practice the best, and safest procedures to remain healthy during this time.
We can not wait to get our season started, and we hope it will be sooner rather than later!! As always, stay tuned to our website, and or social media pages for the latest up to date announcements regarding our 2020 season.
