Gregg Kicks Off Wild Week On Wednesday

Gregg Set for Placerville, Chico, and Medford

Following a week off with nasty northern California weather, Andy Gregg and his Bret Ervin Racing team are poised for a stretch of three races in four nights in two states kicking off in Placerville, CA Wednesday night.

Following a vicious crash at the Calistoga Speedway during round seven of the 2011 King of the West Series, Gregg and company will bolt in their 360 ci power-plant and hit the high banks of Placerville Speedway Wednesday night as the 7 Industries/Ervin Sales Group/Eagle is set to go to battle with the California Civil War Series.

“I grew up going to Placerville, and started my racing career at this track,” said the Placerville native. “This year as we run with the KWS we don’t have any races there (Placerville) so I’m excited that we can fit a few of their races into our schedule.”

Following the Wednesday show, the Bret Ervin Racing team will then switch back to their 410 ci motor and get their car ready for Fridays eighth round of KWS action as the series returns to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for the Tribute to Gary Patterson/Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial.

The only time Gregg and team have been in Chico in 2011 was in early May, when the series attempted to run the Dave Bradway Memorial, Gregg timed in with the second quickest lap of the 28 entrants during time trials.

“Chico is such a fun track and I’m looking forward to hopefully getting the entire race in this weekend,” Gregg noted. “The Bradway is such a big race out here in northern California, so it would definitely be a huge race to win.”

Once the checkered flag flies in Chico, Gregg and his team will then head up I 5 for round nine of KWS action as the series invades the Southern Oregon Speedway, in Medford, Oregon on Saturday night.

The stop in Oregon will mark the Series’ first out of state stop of the season as they are also to scheduled to make a stop in Nevada later this summer.

“Medford is a cool track,” said Gregg. “I’ve been fortunate enough to race up there a few times in the past and found success so I’m excited to get up there.”

The front gates are set to open at 5pm on Wednesday and we encourage fans to show up early, as this event tends to draw huge crowds.
