Belleville, IL. (3/12/2020) For the first time in the history of the POWRi Lucas Oil Border Tour Sprint Series drivers will venture to the alluring Arizona for a duel in the desert. Opening a full-slated schedule of sixteen events in 2020, Border Tour sprinters will first attempt to tame the fast Cocopah Speedway on Saturday, March 21st.
Non-Wing 360 sprint cars from all over the Southwest will embark on Somerton Arizona with $1,500 in prize money going to the main-event winner and every driver of the feature receiving $220 to start. Additionally, a $500 Bonus will be up for grabs, at the POWRi Lucas Oil Border Tour Series season opener on March 21st, for the highest finishing San Tan Desert Sprint Car or the highest finishing 305 Sprint Car in the feature event. Pit gates at the “Diamond of the Desert” Cocopah Speedway open at 3:00 pm and side-by-side racing starting at 7:00 pm.
Race-Fans wanting more action from Cocopah Speedway will get their chance later in the season when the POWRi Border Tour returns for a Halloween double-dip October 30-31. The newly built state-of-the-art facility, Vado Speedway Park, will remain at the core of the POWRi Lucas Oil Border Tour schedule with their first of seven shows on Saturday, April 4th.
